While the game directly adapts the plot of the movie it is based on, it also builds upon it by including scenes and villains not appear in the movie. The Game Boy Advance version was later re-released and bundled on Twin Pack cartridge with Spider-Man 2: The Game in 2005. Made to promote of the movie of the same name, it was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance on Apin North America (two weeks before the film's release), and June 7 in Europe.
